this pizza was the culmination of an exhausting day. a combination of daily work along with some last minute renderings for a film i'm cutting, all marinated in a cold soup of shitty near-winter weather. even a sock drizzled with marinara wouldve made me happy so this review might be biased but I can safely say i enjoyed this pizza quite a bit. it took me a second to find, given that the pizzeria was a little booth hidden at the back of a food market, but once i did i felt hugged by the universe.
the storefront had a retro look to it, and the order window revealed a quaint wooden interior. i felt like i was ordering a hot chocolate on a ski hill. the pizza itself was alright. the best part was definitely the cheese, it sort of tasted like a homemade melt of mozza with an even spread. it would've been nice to have it easily separate with every bite but instead the cheese sort of stuck together as one piece, most likely because of too much oil on the dough. the dough also felt a tad chewy and undercooked, which personally i dont mind given that i grew up stealing bits of raw dough from my mom as she rolled pierogi's. regular people who weren't degenerate children growing up may prefer the dough a little tougher. the dough also had an interesting tangy taste that i wasn't expecting, as if they used sourdough starter for the yeast. i mean that didn't detract from the experience, i personally genuinely liked that factor. lastly, the sauce was done well although i couldve used more of it. the wonderful cheese taste overpowered it a bit so what tends to be my favourite part of a pizza got a bit lost. overall i would still recommend it - especially if its cold, and the world's been beating you up, and you need something that'll give your insides a nice saucy kiss. gross analogy but true.
